Rescheduling or Canceling a Meeting
Last updated: March 16, 2026
If you or your guest needs to reschedule or cancel a meeting, you can simply reply in the original email thread where Workmate is included.
For example, you might write:
“Jill, can we move this meeting to next week instead?”
Once Workmate sees the request, it will automatically handle the necessary updates — coordinating with participants and updating the calendar invitation.
You do not need to open the app to make these changes.
How Rescheduling Works
When a rescheduling request is detected, Workmate will:
Review the existing meeting details
Check calendar availability for all participants
Propose new time options or confirm a new time
Update the calendar invitation once a time is agreed upon
The assistant continues coordinating in the same email thread so everyone stays informed.
Canceling a Meeting
If a meeting needs to be canceled, you can simply reply in the thread with a message such as:
“Please cancel this meeting.”
Workmate will notify participants and cancel the calendar invitation.
Managing Changes from Slack or SMS
You can also ask Workmate to reschedule or cancel meetings through Slack or SMS.
For example:
“Find a new time for my 1:1 with Will.”
“Cancel my meeting with Sarah tomorrow.”
“Clear my calendar on Friday.”
Workmate will identify the relevant meetings and handle the updates automatically.
PRO TIP: You can ask Workmate to modify multiple meetings at once. Workmate will interpret the request and take the appropriate actions to update your schedule.
